Adult companion services are non-medical social support services for people with disabilities or older adults who need supervision, care, or assistance.
When a person is on a disability waiver or the Alternative Care (AC) program and over the age of 18, companion services could include:
- Laundry
- Light housekeeping tasks
- Meal preparation
- Shopping
- Supervision
- Socialization

Because service availability may be limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this service may be provided using phone calls or other technology to offer real-time contact and support.
